Venezuela participó en el debate general de la sesión anual del Comité Especial de la Carta de las Naciones Unidas para el Fortalecimiento del papel de la organización, informó la Misión venezolana ante la ONU.
“En nombre de los 20 países que conforman el Grupo de Amigos en Defensa de la Carta de la ONU, Venezuela participa en el debate general”, indicó la misión a través de Twitter.
El embajador alterno de Venezuela ante la ONU, Joaquín Pérez Ayestarán, afirmó que la Carta de la ONU ha sido atacada por el creciente unilateralismo y excepcionalismo.
Pérez resaltó la gravedad del asunto al recordar que dicho texto es la base del derecho internacional.
«Llamamos a garantizar que las sanciones impuestas por el Consejo de Seguridad #ONU contra países donde existen Misiones de Paz desplegadas, no se conviertan en un factor de desestabilización socioeconómica que termine por prolongar los conflictos y exacerbar sus causas raigales», agregó en su cuenta en la red social Twitter.
